Rate Changes Only
If client is updating rates only and there are no other changes to their plans, use the appropriate Benefit Plan rate import template:
- For Benefit Plans with Coverage Type of Premium use the BenefitPlanPremiums template.
- Fill in the template with the Plan Name, Effective From (Benefit Plan), Effective To (Benefit Plan), Coverage Name, As of Date (Coverage Level), Deduction #
- For calendar year plans with a Benefit Plan Effective From date of 1/1 you can add a Pricing tier with the effective date for the new rates
- For non-calendar year plans a new plan year may need to be added (this is required for medical Benefit Plans for clients with ACA).
- Hide any columns that do not apply
- Send to client with instructions to provide the rates for each Plan and Coverage Level (example Premium = total monthly premium and Employer Pays = ER amount)
- Fill in the template with the Plan Name, Effective From (Benefit Plan), Effective To (Benefit Plan), Coverage Name, As of Date (Coverage Level), Deduction #
- For Benefit Plans with Coverage Type of ......
New Benefit Plan Configuration
If client has any changes to their Benefit Plans other than rates only, they will need to complete a new Benefits Discovery. This is required to ensure we obtain the necessary information to accurately configure their Benefit Plans.
- Hide any tabs that do not apply prior to sending to client.
- Discovery call is strongly encouraged to help explain the information we are requesting and ensure the document is completed thoroughly and accurately.
- It is recommended the client sends supporting plan documentation with the completed Benefits Discovery
Ending Benefit Plans
If client is no longer offering certain Benefit Plans you will need to enter the appropriate Benefit Plan Effective To date and instruct the client to enter the appropriate Coverage Effective To and Deduction Effective To dates for the Employee Benefit Plans. Do not inactivate the plan or remove from the Benefit Profile. The Effective To date will ensure the Benefit Plan can no longer be selected/added to employees after the end date.
