Forms 1095-C Electronic Delivery and Electronic Consent

  • All employees have access to view their own Forms 1095-C in ESS, regardless of whether or not Electronic Consent is enabled, and will receive an email notification when forms have been electronically delivered in the system. 
  • For employers who choose to enable Electronic Consent, employees who have given consent will not receive a paper copy (except for terminated employees).
  • For employers who choose not to enable Electronic Consent, paper copies will be printed for all employees with a Form 1095-C.
  • Employers are responsible for distributing paper copies of Forms 1095-C to employees by the extended IRS deadline of March 2nd. 

You can check if Electronic Consent is enabled by navigating to Settings tab > Global Setup > Company Setup > ACA tab.

There are two reports that clients can use to view who has provided Electronic Consent for 1095-Cs.  These can be found by searching for "1095-C Electronic Consent" within the Report Hub.

NOTE: If the client started with PayNW in 2022 they will not have 2021 Forms 1095-C available, so they will need to use the Employee ACA Actions report and add the columns shown below:

IMPORTANT: Do not change any ACA settings. If a client wants to make changes to any ACA settings, please send Nichole a ticket. There are certain steps she needs to take to update settings and document the change for audit/review purposes.
