Purpose Statement 

This document outlines how to add ESS Self Service Messages in Benefit Profiles


Adding ESS Self Service Messages

  1. From the Admin tab, go to Company Settings>Profiles/Policies>Benefits>Profiles
  2. Find the profile you would like to add a message in and click the pencil to open the profile
  3. On the right side of the screen, select the appropriate box and add your message.
    1. ESS Screen Message: Only works in Classic UI. Do not use.
    2. ESS Request Not Submitted Message: Do not use.
    3. ESS Enrollment Instructions Tab (Global): This message will show on the first screen when the employee goes to make benefit selections. These instructions will appear for New Hire, Open, and Life Change Event enrollment elections. Examples may include detailed instructions at the global level for completing the enrollment process, which may include web links.
    4. ESS Open Enrollment Instructions Tab: This message will show on the first screen when the employee goes to make an open enrollment request. This will appear in addition to the Global instructions from above. Examples may include detailed instructions as pertaining to the Open Enrollment process, which can include web links.
    5. ESS New Employee Enrollment Instructions Tab: This message will show on the first screen when the employee goes to make an new hire enrollment request. This will appear in addition to the Global instructions from above. Examples may include detailed instructions as pertaining to the Open Enrollment process, which can include web links.
    6. ESS Enrollment Confirmation Selection: This message will show on top the Confirm and Submit tab of enrollment prior to submitting their elections. Examples may include text to verify or confirm the enrollment selections.
    7. ESS Enrollment Acknowledgement: This message will appear in the pop-up box for the employee to type in their password or SSN to acknowledge the benefit request. Examples may include text that the system has received the selections made through enrollment and directions on how to make changes.
