How To - Configure Asset Types

Configuring Asset Types

  1. From the Admin tab, go to Company Settings>HR Setup>Assets (Property)>Asset Types

Note: The model comes with a list of default asset types. These types can be deleted until they are used on an employee record.

              1. Click on Add New to create a new asset type

              2. The Asset Type screen will display. Enter a Type (Name) and Description (optional). You can check to Allow Multi Assets or to Allow  Child Assets.

  • Allow Multi Assets: Allows you to assign the same asset multiple times. Example: 15 desk chairs.
  • Allow Child Assets: Allows you to create sub-assets that are linked to the main asset. Example: Computer would be the main asset and software installed on that computer would be a child asset.
2. After you have set this, you can determine what fields you want to collect and require for this asset. The system comes with a list of default fields you can use or there are five fields that can be set up as custom.
  • Fields: Collect/Required: Per each Asset Type, you can define the different attributes of that asset as either Collected or Required Information.
  • Custom #1-#5: If the default fields are not sufficient, you can add up to five custom fields that can be enabled and defined as either Collected or Required information.

3. Once completed, click save in the top, right corner.
