How to Set Notification Preferences in HubSpot

Purpose: Process walks through how to update notification preferences in HubSpot

Step 1: Access Notification Settings 

1. Log in to HubSpot using Microsoft SSO. 
2. In the top-right corner, click your profile picture or initials. 
3. Choose “Profile & Preferences.” 
4. In the left-hand sidebar, under “Your Preferences,” click “Notifications.” 

Step 2: Choose How You Get Notified 

 
Under the “Email & Desktop” tab, you can enable or disable the following types of notifications: 
 
- Email – Sent to your inbox. 
- Bell – Appears in the HubSpot bell icon (in-app). 
- Browser – Pops up when HubSpot is open in your browser. 
- Pop-up – Temporary notification inside HubSpot while you’re active. 
- Sound – Optional chime (only applies to pop-up notifications). You can preview and change the sound type and duration. 
 
You can toggle each method on/off individually depending on your preferences. 
 

Step 3: Customize What You Get Notified About 

 
Scroll down to “What you get notified about.” 
 
1. Use the search bar to find specific notification topics (e.g., tickets, mentions, tasks). 
2. Or click “Expand all topics” to see everything. 
3. For each topic (like Academy, Emails, Conversations, etc.), select your preferred notification methods: 
   - Pop-up 
   - Browser 
   - Bell 
   - Email 
 
To disable a notification completely, uncheck all boxes for that item. 
 

Step 4: Turn Off All (Optional) 

 
If you'd like a fresh start: 
- Click “Turn off all topics” to clear all notifications. 
- Then, re-enable only what’s important to you. 
 

Step 5: You're All Set! 

 
Your changes save automatically, no need to click a “Save” button.
