***IMPORTANT NOTE*** You can not shadow in as a client Admin/Manager in order to confirm you setup this access correctly. The client Admin/Manager needs to login themselves to confirm the Login As Employee functionality is available to them.
New as of the April 2023 Release.
When enabled, this feature allows a user to sign in as someone else, so they can experience the other user's session as them also known as shadowing or opening a shadow session. Although this mimics the security of the shadow session, if any actions are taken, audit trails will show the actual user performing the actions. This functionality still considers someone's group access to determine who they can login as as well as if it is enabled on their security profile.
Login As Employee Configuration
Permission to grant Login As Employee rights can be set in the Security Profile via Global > Company Setup > Login As Employee.
If granted, this permission will give a user the ability to add the Login As Employee widget in Global Setup > Company Setup.
Note: You may need to Edit Tabs in Company Setup and add the Login as Employee window to the Login Config tab in order to turn this feature on for a client for the first time.
This widget contains the following:
-
Enable Login As Employee Checkbox: This turns the functionality on.
-
Employee Lookup: The Employees selected via this look-up will be granted permission to Login As another employee.
Note: In order to Login As another employee a user must also have group permissions allowing them to view that user's data
Login As Employee Access Points
A user with permission to Login As another employee can access the Login As function in two places:
-
