What is a Dashboard?
The HCM market trends today is to provide a consumer grade end-user experience. Dashboards are like the face of the system or the front door of the house welcoming a user to engage with actions, activities, and information. Because of this, the dashboard configuration is critical across almost all clients to provide a positive and engaging user experience.
Key Components of a Dashboard:
- Tabs: Dashboard can have separate tabs that correspond with different areas of activities in the system. The HOME tab is commonly used as the employee self service tab. All other tabs are typically custom tabs which give the most flexibility of configuration as compared to using domain tabs
- Widget: These are typically pre configured dashboard tiles that can be used for a wide range of functions. Some have configuration options, while others are do not have any options. Those that start with MY indicate the information relates to their own information (Self-Service) as opposed to the information of others.
