General Settings checklist:
Mobile Punching
Navigation: Settings > Profiles/Policies > Security
1) Security Profile must have mobile app Punching Enabled. Best practice is to also enable saving the username and enabling biometric authentication. If employees will be changing cost centers, that may need to be enabled, too.
2) Timesheet profile:
Navigation: Settings > Profiles/Policies > Timesheets
- Timesheet Punching must be enabled
- Time Collected via punches must be enabled
- If using cost center changes, then cost center must be enabled with view/edit access
3) If using access profiles for web punching, must also have enabled for mobile punch.
Navigation: Settings > Profiles/Policies > Access
Geofencing
Navigation: Settings > Profiles/Policies > Timesheets > View/ Edit Rules
1) Add Rule for On Punch-Check Distance two times. Once for the Punch In and Once for Punch Out
- Check Distance for Punch In
- Check Distance for Punch Out
2) For each rule, set the rule settings for location and distance from.

Note: You can set the distance from Company address, employee's default cost center, employee's working cost center (Cost Center selected when punching, if required), and employee's home address.
3) Cost Centers Setup for punches that will depend on the employee's default cost center or the employee's working cost center
Navigation: Settings > Global Setup > Cost enters > Cost Center Tree
- Address locations must be enabled on cost center tree. If address enabled on more than one level, address looks at LAST level for address verification
- Geo-Fencing priority set to highest
IMPORTANT: Verify the cost center tree you are using for geofencing is not competing with another cost center tree with both addresses and geofencing enabled. This will likely cause the system to pull the wrong address or distance.
- Specify in each cost center's settings, the geofencing restricted distance (if different than in timesheet rule)
- Set Latitude and Longitude coordinates
3) Employees must have default location assigned in their profile OR be prompted to select their location.
4) If employees are required to make a cost center choice when punching, the Force Change settings needs to be turned on in their security profile.
