Both the Pay Calc Profile and Pay Prep Profile play a part in this:
-
- Pay Calc determines how Overtime gets calculated.
- Pay Prep tells the system which items from the timesheet to pull into payroll.
The employee(s) need to be on a Pay Calc Profile that calculates Overtime. (Usually you could assign them the same Profile as an Hourly employee. But you might want to clone one of those to make an actual Salary Non-Exempt Profile, to make it easy for the client to understand.)
Note: Verify other settings in the Pay Calc Profile as well (Ex. If they have 1.5x rate for Worked Holiday, as well, for hourly employees, do the salary non-exempt folks get that too? Or just Overtime for weekly hours?)
Pay Prep Profile tells the system what to pull into payroll. The employee will need to be assigned to a Pay Prep Profile for Salary Non-Exempt employees. This Profile cannot be set up the same as that for an Hourly employee. (Due to the fact that it should only pull over Overtime/Time Off hours to payroll.)
Click Counter List in the Pay Prep Profile, make sure that Regular is not included in the list, and that Overtime is.
