Washington Long Term Care - Exempting Employees with Valid Waivers

Long Term Care is calculated as follows:  Gross wages x .0058 = total premium with no wage cap.  Employees with valid waivers should be marked as exempt from the tax on their employee profile.

NOTE: These settings are not available on the employee until the tax has been added at the company level first.

Navigation Path:

  •  Team > Payroll > Employee Payroll Maintenance > Taxes > Tax Jurisdictions

Steps:

  1. Filter the State/Province column to 'Washington'.
  2. For employees with a valid waiver, click the edit pencil next to the Washington state tax jurisdiction.

  

  1. Locate Washington Long-Term Care Insurance (LTI)add a new row and effective date to the date specified in the letter.  Then choose under the EE Withhold column the Exempt setting. 

  1. A popup warning will appear for confirmation.
  2. Click  .
  3. For clients with document storage, supporting waiver document(s) can also be uploaded by choosing  

 

NOTE: Clients using the HR module can have employees submit their waiver documents via an HR action request for approval and processing.
